Garden Design

The design process includes some, or all, of the following stages depending on your requirements:

1) Initial consultation (free of charge with no-obligation to proceed further)

We visit you on-site to discuss your requirements and explain the design process in detail. We want to hear your thoughts and it helps if you have a selection of pictures to illustrate your ideas. We then draw up a design brief off-site that is sent to you with a quote for the design work, to include stages 2 – 5.

2) Site survey and analysis

If you wish to go ahead we then take precise measurements of your garden in order to generate accurate drawings. We record existing levels, soil type, aspect and the presence of trees that are either protected or you wish to include in the design. With larger gardens and challenging sites, the services of a land surveyor may be required.

3) Concept plan

We develop a number of concept plans for you to consider. To support the presentation of our ideas we develop a visual mood board consisting of colour images that illustrate the overall feel of the design we are planning to create.

4) Masterplan

Once you have chosen your preferred route, the final design is drawn up and presented as a masterplan with supporting drawings.

5) Construction drawings

If the site requires hard landscaping, we provide technically accurate construction details.

6) Planting plans

(an additional fee is agreed for this service)

We produce an accurate planting plan showing the plant varieties to be used, quantities and spacing. A mood board will illustrate the different plants.

7) Maintenance

On-going maintenance programmes can be drawn up if required.
